Open-source software for every New Yorker.
LocalDevs builds free, open-source software that helps New Yorkers reach food, services and support in their own neighborhood.
Building for every borough
Programs
Public tools New Yorkers can use today.
Each program is free, open source and maintained for the long term, not built for a weekend and left behind.
Approach
Built with New Yorkers, for New Yorkers.
01
Research the need
We start with New Yorkers and the organizations that serve them, and define the problem before writing code.
02
Build in the open
Small teams ship focused tools with public source, so any agency or nonprofit can audit and adopt them.
03
Operate for the long term
Public services depend on reliable software. We plan for maintenance, not just launch.
Help build a better-connected New York.
We are looking for food banks, community organizations and city agencies to partner with, and volunteer engineers and designers from across the five boroughs.
